Why not challenge yourself to take on our abseil adventure? You’ll get the chance to abseil 100 feet down the side of one of Bristol’s most iconic buildings - Southmead Hospital – whilst raising money for our Charity at the same time.
Our sponsored abseil event is on Saturday 8 September and is to raise money for our Prostate Cancer Care Appeal.
Adrian Brown, our Corporate and Community Manager, said: “The Amazing Abseil Adventure is a great challenge for people to take on and a unique opportunity to climb down one of Bristol’s most notable buildings. You’ll also get to enjoy the magnificent views of North Bristol and all the way to the Severn Crossing.
“You can raise money for our Prostate Cancer Care Appeal or another area of the hospital close to your heart – perhaps a ward or department that has helped you or a loved one.
“We’d also love to get teams involved – perhaps you can gather a team of your work colleagues or friends together to make the most of this fun event.
“No experience is necessary as our qualified instructors from Dave Talbot Adventure Events will provide full training and support on the day.”
Our Prostate Cancer Care Appeal aims to raise £2million to purchase two surgical robots for the hospital to meet growing demand, fund new diagnostic and treatment options and to support the training of the next generation of robotic surgeons - improving outcomes for men with prostate cancer. The first robot was purchased at the start of 2018, and the Appeal continues to raise funds for the second robot.
If you sign up early you’ll get the early bird registration rate of just £25 until August 21, after that the sign up fee is £35. Places are limited, so hurry!
In addition, participants will be required to raise a minimum £100 in sponsorship.
