Bristol City Council has generously donated some of its inspiring collection of images from the Bristol Girls Can campaign – co-developed by our Fresh Arts programme – to North Bristol (NHS) Trust. The everyday photos of mums enjoying exercise alongside their children are now on display in Southmead Hospital’s maternity department for patients and their families to enjoy.
Bristol Girls Can celebrates some of the amazing ways women in our city fit exercise into their lives, no matter how they do it, how they look or how sweaty they get! The selection of photos in our Percy Philips ward and Quantock corridor shows how local women are managing to exercise ante- and post-natally, along with their children. Meet the women featured in the photos, read their stories and be inspired at: www.BristolGirlsCan.co.uk/meetthegirls
Bristol Girls Can is part of the national This Girl Can campaign developed by Sport England together with a range of partners to encourage women to get active.
The photography exhibitions have been developed in partnership with Fresh Arts, the arts programme funded by Southmead Hospital Charity, for North Bristol NHS Trust and #UHBristolArts, the Arts and Culture programme, funded by Above & Beyond, for University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.
