Charity of the Year with Guildhall Chambers
Guildhall Chambers have announced Southmead Hospital Charity as their charity of the year.
The barristers, based in Broad Street, Bristol, are supporting our Prostate Cancer Care Appeal and have donated £13,000.
James Townsend, head of Guildhall Chambers, said: “We are delighted to support the work of the surgeons at Southmead Hospital and the Charity's Prostate Cancer Care Appeal.
“We aim to team up with a local charity each year, making a donation that will make a difference and, as importantly, helping in other ways to raise profiles.
“Prostate cancer has, historically, received less support and publicity than other forms of the disease, in spite of the fact that it is so common.
“We are therefore very pleased to be able to do something to help the hospital to continue to make strides in its treatment and to save, and make better, the lives of thousands of men.”
Adrian Brown, our community appeals manager, said: “A big thank you to Guildhall Chambers for choosing us as their charity of the year - we're very grateful for their support of our Prostate Cancer Care Appeal.
“If your business chooses a charity to support each year, we would love to be put forward for your consideration."
