Thanks to all of our amazing supporters and donors we raised a fantastic £30,850 from our Christmas activity last December – the most we’ve ever achieved during the festive period.
“We’re absolutely delighted to announce the total raised over Christmas and want to give a big thanks to everyone who supported us.” Explains our Head of Fundraising, Liz Bond.
“We launched our Christmas activity at the start of December and our aim was to raise enough money to buy every patient in hospital over Christmas a present, as well as to support our Prostate Cancer Care Appeal. This we achieved, and more.
“We’re also grateful to all of the performers who took part in our Buskathon in support of the Appeal. We had over 100 ‘buskers’ taking part and that element alone raised over £15,000.
“Thank you also to our partners John Lewis Cribbs Causeway and Bristol Shopping who hosted weekend buskers for us. We also want to thank staff here at North Bristol NHS Trust who held cake sales, and the team behind the Charity float which toured north Bristol and raised money for our Emergency Department.
Our Christmas activity included the Christmas Buskathon, the John Lewis Christmas room display, Christmas cake sales, and the Christmas float. We also asked supporters to donate Christmas socks to be included in the gift bags which we gave every patient who was in hospital on Christmas Day. In addition, we funded hampers for every ward, and gave Christmas Cracker awards to departments to buy equipment.
We’re now planning all of this year’s events and would love to hear from anyone who would like to fundraise for us and help make 2018 extra special for Southmead. Please contact Adrian.firstname.lastname@example.org for further information or take a look here.
