Cyclist reunited with ICU staff

We had a very special visitor here at Charity HQ yesterday.  Eleanor Browne called in to meet staff from our Intensive Care Unit who helped save her life following a serious paragliding accident 3 years ago.  Eleanor has just completed a 160 mile bike ride from Plymouth to Bristol to raise money for the Unit.

“I’m raising money for three organisations who helped save my life back in 2014. I owe them everything, and this is my way to try to say thank you, and show them just how much of a difference they have made to me.

“I had multiple serious traumas to my lower spine, pelvis, legs and feet. I spent 6 weeks in the Intensive Care Unit at Southmead Hospital where I underwent many surgeries to patch me back together.  I’m fortunate to be alive, and walking, and cycling again! So this is a celebration, and a thank you!”

Eleanor’s visit here marked 3 years to the day after her accident and our ICU staff really enjoyed meeting Eleanor again.
