Full steam ahead for the Great Brunel Buskathon

Our month-long Great Brunel Buskathon is now underway.

The busking was kicked off by Bristol-born professional soprano Laura Curry who sang beautifully at our launch event.  She was accompanied by pianist Sandie Middleton.  Laura’s performance was then followed by the Annette Adams School of Dancing who put on a fantastic display.

We’re calling on the people of Bristol to get busking throughout June to raise money for Southmead Hospital and there’s still time to get involved.

“We’d love as many different types of performers as possible to join in our Buskathon.” Explains our community appeals manager, Adrian Brown.

“Singers, musicians, acrobats, actors, jugglers …everyone is welcome to take part. You can host a show specifically for the Charity, or simply get busking and use one of our charity buckets for a collection.  You might want to host a sponsored performance, donate a retiring collection, or put on a concert for your work colleagues.  Whatever your plans, let us know.”

We’re hosting a series of daytime concerts here at Southmead Hospital throughout the month and performances are also taking part in other venues throughout the city.
