The Great Brunel Buskathon is here!
Southmead Hospital Charity will once again be filling Southmead Hospital with music as the Great Brunel Buskathon returns for the month of June, this year raising money for the Charity’s Prostate Cancer Care Appeal.
Building on the success of last year’s Buskathon, the Charity is hosting a variety of performers in the hospital’s Brunel building, and at John Lewis Cribbs Causeway and in Broadmead. At today’s launch visitors, patients and staff in the hospital will be treated to perfomances from South Glos singers.
“We have a fantastic programme of performers lined up for the month, ranging from choirs and bands, to soloists and musicians.” explains community appeals manager, Adrian Brown.
“We’ve got something planned for most days so we’d urge everyone to check our website to see when the various acts are on and come along and support them.
“We’ve also got performers playing for us in John Lewis Cribbs Causeway on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th June, and in Broadmead on Saturday 17 June. So we hope everyone will look out for them and pop their spare cash in our collection buckets to raise money for our Prostate Cancer Care Appeal.”
The Buskathon first took place last June and raised over £6,000 for Southmead Hospital Charity. This year there are even more performers taking part and some particularly popular acts are returning, including violinist Jessica Diamond, and Thornbury’s Ukelele Jam.
“We’re very grateful to all of the performers who will be busking for us.” Add Adrian.
“And it’s not too late to support the Buskathon. If you’re doing a performance anywhere, you can still hold a collection for us.”
