International Nurses Day 2017
We’re marking International Nurses Day today by funding celebrations here at North Bristol NHS Trust.
Nurses, health care assistants and midwives from across our Trust will be honoured in the Director of Nursing Awards which, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we’re very proud to support.
Later in the day, a thanksgiving service will be held at Bristol Cathedral to celebrate nursing past, present and future across the city. It’s the first time such an event will be held in Bristol to honour all nursing staff and student nurses. It will be co-hosted by North Bristol NHS Trust, University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).
“Southmead Hospital Charity is delighted to help fund celebrations for this special day, which is actually Florence Nightingale’s birthday." explains the Charity’s Head of Fundraising, Liz Bond.
“It’s so important to celebrate our amazing nurses and thank them for all their hard work and commitment. And this year is extra special as we’re having a joint celebration with other organisations across the city.”
The celebration at the Cathedral is at 5pm on Friday (May 12). The service is open to all nurses if you don’t yet have a ticket please bring your work identification badge. Family members are welcome.
