We’ll once again be filling Southmead Hospital and sites around the city with music as our Buskathon returns for the month of June. And it kicks off this Saturday 1 June at 11am in Broadmead.
We’ll be hosting a variety of performers in our Brunel building, and around Bristol at venues including John Lewis, Yate shopping centre, and Bradley Stoke shopping centre. All performers will be busking for free, raising money for tus.
“We have a fantastic programme of performers lined up for the month, from choirs and bands, to soloists and quartets.” Explains our corporate and community manager, Adrian Brown.
“We’ve got something planned for most days throughout June so we’d urge everyone to check our website for the full programme and come along and support our acts.
“We’ve also got performers playing for us in John Lewis Cribbs Causeway on Saturday 8 June; in the Mall at Cribbs Causeway on 15 June; and in Yate shopping centre on 29 June. So we hope everyone will look out for them and pop their spare cash in our collection buckets to raise money for our charity.”
This Saturday 1 June shoppers will be able to enjoy performances from:
- Rock Choir, 11am
- Gospel Generation Community Choir, 12.15 pm
- Mini Massive, 1.30pm
The Buskathon first took place in June 2016. It’s now a twice-yearly event and last year it raised over £30,000 for Southmead Hospital Charity. This year some particularly popular acts are returning, including violinist Jessica Diamond, and Thornbury’s Ukulele Jam, and we’re very grateful to all of the performers who will be busking for us.
You can find the timetable for all of the Buskathon performances here
