Two mums who want to say thank you to the maternity unit where they had their babies have set up a pop-up baby shop to raise money for Southmead Hospital Charity.

Emma Doney and Claire Davis are about to open up a pop-up in Yate Shopping Centre between March 4 and March 29 to raise money for the maternity fund.

They decided they wanted to do something to say thank you to the maternity team following the birth of their children by supporting the charity.

The shop will sell clothes and toys for children aged up to 10, new and pre-loved as well as equipment, cots, prams and breastfeeding and maternity clothes.

There will also be regular story-time sessions in the shop.

Emma and Claire recently visited the maternity unit to present the team with baby clothes donated by Aden+Anais.

Adrian Brown, corporate and community manager at Southmead Hospital Charity, said: “We’re very grateful to Emma, Claire and the team for organising the pop up shop and raising money for us.

“All the proceeds will go to our maternity fund, and will help support projects to make life even better for our mums and babies.

“The shop is an inspired idea and we’re delighted to be the chosen charity.”
