Two new virtual tours launched
Two new virtual tours funded by our donors are now available to view online. The tours are of Southmead Hospital’s maternity unit, and of Cossham Hospital. Both tours give patients the chance to familiarise themselves with the buildings in advance of a visit, giving them confidence and reassurance before they leave home.
The virtual tour of Southmead Hospital’s maternity unit takes visitors through the central delivery suite, allowing them to see inside the delivery rooms and family areas. The Cossham tour takes visitors through the main entrance and along all levels of the building, including the dialysis room, imaging, and the Birth Centre, allowing expectant parents to have a look at the Geranium, Lavender and Jasmin birthing rooms.
“We appreciate that coming to hospital can be a stressful experience, so we’ve funded the virtual tours in the hope that they will demystify the experience for our patients and make a visit less daunting.” Explains our Head of Fundraising, Liz Bond.
“The tours can help prepare our patients before they arrive, allowing them to take a look at our facilities from the comfort of their own homes and get a flavour of the departments and their layout. The virtual tour of Southmead Hospital’s Brunel building which we funded last year gets over 5,000 views a month so there’s a definite demand for such a facility.”
