We're Searching for Seventy at Cossham
To celebrate the 70th birthday of the NHS, staff and artists at Cossham Hospital are launching an innovative arts project to find 70 things that we might not know about the Hospital and its incredible community.
The project, funded by us through our Fresh Arts programme, launched on September 24 and will dig a little deeper into the extraordinary work behind-the-scenes at Cossham Hospital in an attempt to find out what makes Cossham, Cossham.
An ‘observatory’ will be set up in the hospital as a hub for the project and artists Megan Clark-Bagnall and Ali Brown will be leading creative workshops with patients and visitors in waiting rooms and communal areas in the Hospital.
Donna Baber, Fresh Arts programme manager said: “We’d like staff, patients, and members of the local community to pop in and share what they love, know and notice about Cossham Hospital.
“This is an opportunity for people to engage in arts activity - come and share your stories and memories whilst taking part in therapeutic hands-on making activities.
“Everything created from these sessions will be used in a final display of the 70 things we discover. Cossham Hospital has huge support from its local community and it’s hoped this project will further share our love for this important community hospital.”
A celebration and showcase of ‘We Search for Seventy’ will be on display at Cossham Hospital from Tuesday 16 October and will be open to the public.
