FAQs

What is the 10 Bake Challenge?

Our flagship virtual baking fundraiser! Test your baking skills and take on 10 exciting baking challenges set by us (or choose your own) to raise money for your local hospital. Over 30 participants of all ages took part in the first 10 Bake Challenge last year raising over £10,000 for Southmead Hospital.

How much does it cost to take part?

There’s no cost to take part, you will just need to cover your cost of ingredients and any baking tools you might like to use.

Can children take part?

Yes! The 10 Bake Challenge is popular with young baking enthusiasts too. Challenges can be adapted to suit all baking abilities.

Do I have to be good at baking?

No, it’s supposed to be a challenge whether you find that in practising a new skill, baking something completely new or completing 10 bakes within a strict time frame set by yourself. Try your best, have fun and learn from any baking blips along the way!

I’m an experienced baker or I’ve got my own cake business, can I take part?

Absolutely! If you think our challenges aren’t quite enough of a challenge for you, you can always put your own twist on them or come up with an unusual theme for your own 10 bakes of choice.

How much do I have to raise?

Our recommended minimum fundraising target is £300. Get sponsored for your baking efforts, sell your bakes to friends and family or hold an online auction on your social media. Perhaps you could hold a cake sale at your workplace, school or social club?

How does the 10 Bake Challenge work for groups?

It’s up to you! You could allocate the different challenges or ask members to pick a surprise challenge from a hat and auction each one within the group. Or why not organise group challenges and vote for your favourite to add an exciting competitive element before selling them off in a bake sale?
