Give in memory of a loved one

Remember a loved one

Sadly not everyone that comes to hospital gets better. Ensuring a dignified death is something we’re very proud to support.

Giving a gift to remember a family member, friend or colleague can bring comfort at a time of great sadness. Your gift will honour the life of your loved one and make a meaningful difference to the lives of patients and staff here at Southmead Hospital.

You can set up a special tribute page, donate in your loved one’s name, organise a collection at a funeral or memorial collection at a service, or take on an event to fundraise in memory.

Please contact Hannah, who will be there alongside you to help you create a legacy for your loved one.

Funeral collections

GriefChat

We know that no-one can understand exactly what your loss feels like to you. But we do understand that it’s sometimes easier to talk to someone outside of your friends and family about grief and the impact of bereavement of your life and this is why we offer the GriefChat service.

GriefChat was created by bereavement experts and by clicking on the GriefChat box below, you can chat directly to a specially trained bereavement counsellor.

The team of counsellors is experienced in supporting bereaved people and will listen to your story, explore how your grief is affecting you and help you to find any additional support you might need.

It’s a completely free service and is available Monday-Friday, 9am-9pm (except Bank Holidays) or by email out of these hours.

I’m passionate about giving back as much as I can to show my deepest appreciation for the incredible love and care that was shown to both John and me during his time in the hospital. That’s why I chose to donate John’s funeral collection to the ICU and will continue to make donations each year.
